The Recorder's
office is the repository for many types of documents. State statutes
require that these documents be kept forever and that they are
stored in a medium that meets standards as set in the
Illinois Archival Standards Statutes.
Among the
documents accepted for recordation here are: all those relating to
real estate transactions and ownership, liens of many kinds,
financing statements (U.C.C.'s) Sub-division & Condominium Plats,
Land Surveys and many miscellaneous documents such as Military
Discharges, Corporation Papers, Powers of Attorney, Foreign Birth
Certificates and Farm Names.
The Tazewell
County Recorder's office employs technology that is dependable, fast
and easy to use. It is the very best technology that is available to
Recorders anywhere and exceeds those standards required by Illinois
State Statutes.
We make a
point of pride of our policy of twenty four hour "turn around." This
simply means that every document accepted for recordation one day is
returned to the originator the next business day, few Recorder's
offices in the State can make that claim. Last year we processed
over 40,000 documents.
Our employees
are all very knowledgeable and experienced. We will be glad to help
you find what you want to know and will show you how the system
works. Just ask, you will find us friendly and helpful.
