| The Treasurer/Collector has the responsibility
to collect real estate taxes and dispurse all money collected,
plus interest earned to units of Government listed on your tax
bill. 2009 collection exceeded 172 million dollars |

| All payments must be received no later than the
above dates, if not paid by due dates, interest will be assessed
in the amount of 1-1/2 % per month. |

| Tax Sale |
| Tax sale date in Tazewell County is always
scheduled for the 3rd Monday in October of each year. If taxes are not
paid, taxes are sold to registered tax buyers. Additional
interest and penalty will be added by the tax buyer. |
