The Tazewell County Highway Department is located approximately one mile west of the Village of Tremont on Illinois Route 9. The facility if located in the County Complex on the north side of Illinois Route 9, along with the Tazewell County Health Department, Animal Control, and Tazewell County Resource Center.

Office Hours:
7:30 AM – 12:00 Noon (Monday – Friday)
1:00 PM – 4:30 PM (Monday – Friday)

HOLIDAYS: The office is closed on the following county observed holidays:

Road Closures

Broadway Road closure
BEGINNING MONDAY, JUNE 7TH, BROADWAY ROAD BETWEEN TENNESSEE AVE. AND WASHINGTON ROAD (CH 3), WILL BE CLOSED FOR BRIDGE REPLACEMENT OVER MUD CREEK. LOCAL ACCESS TO POORBAUGH ROAD WILL BE AVAILABLE. THE CLOSURE IS EXPECTED TO LAST UNTIL DECEMBER 2010. MOTORISTS ARE ADVISED TO USE MARKED DETOUR VIA TENNESSEE AVE. AND ROBISON ROAD.
 
Springfield Road -ILL 98 to East Peoria City limits
BEGINNING THE WEEK OF JUNE 7TH, MOTORISTS CAN EXPECT INTERMITTENT LANE CLOSURES ON SPRINGFIELD ROAD (CH 1), BETWEEN IL. ROUTE 98 AND EAST PEORIA CITY LIMITS. THE PROJECT IS THE 1ST PHASE OF A TWO PHASE PROJECT TO WIDEN AND RESURFACE SPRINGFIELD ROAD. THE 1ST PHASE IS EXPECTED TO LAST UNTIL SEPTEMBER 2010. MOTORISTS ARE ADVISED TO SEEK ALTERNATE ROUTES TO AVOID DELAYS.

    Parkway Drive – Lick Creek to Il. 98 in North Pekin – mill, resurface
    Springfield Road – Broadway Road to south of Groveland – mill, resurface
    DeeMack Road – US 24 north to Woodford Co. line – resurface
    Hopedale Road – Olympia Road to Village of Hopedale – mill, resurface
    Winkel Road – Il. 29 to Wagonseller Road – heat scarification, resurface
    Hickory Grove Road – Il. 29 to Wagonseller Road – heat scarification, resurface
     
  • American Reinvestment and Recovery Act (ARRA)
    Allentown Road – Il. 155 to Springfield Road – mill, resurface, shoulders
    DeeMack Road – Bus. 24 to US24 – resurface
    Il. 9 @ Entrance to Tremont County Complex – installation of turn lanes, resurface
     
  • Bridges/Drainage
    Mackinaw Road @ Il. 122 Intersection – culvert replacement
    Broadway Road west of Washington Road – bridge replacement, profile change
    Springfield Road over Mackinaw River – stream bank stabilization
